The Creative Process

Creative Research

For my creative research, I based it on the idea of the butterfly effect. I took images from my life that showed the little butterfly effects in my life (Ex. the swimming pool to the hospital). Apart from my original inspiration for the butterfly effect, the song "Invisible string" by Taylor Swift, as well as the Tiktok thumbnails that I included, inspired my final product. I wanted to find the invisible string that connects all the versions of myself to the version of myself that I am destined to become. In my creative research, I also read quite a few memoirs and creative writing pieces to try and discover what way I would write my stories.

Story Boarding

Drawing the Lines

After selecting all the images I wanted to use for this project, I began storyboarding and drawing the lines between the moments in my life. I posted the images up onto a board and from there I took a red string (almost as if I was a detective) to turn my life's invisible strings and make them visible. Finally, what was supposed to be my progress picture ended up becoming the perfect visualization for my project.

The Stories

Road to Discovery

I wrote a total of 3 drafts of each of my stories. The first focusing on creating an appealing flow between the stories, the second to strengthen my work, and the final were simply nitpicking details such as continuity errors, patterns in images, and character development. Each draft helped to build effective stories and the process really allowed me to observe my life from views at all ages.
